And all throughout the cold bleak mist of the night
I trudge the path of these endlessy twisting woods
Among the dark majestic mountains afar
My mind prepares for the ritual now at hand
Sorrow is mine, for I shall not feel again
The sweet touch of my own lovers hand
When she once was mine, our hearts beat as one
But now in soil she sleeps and worms call home
To her cold faded flesh
The last hints of sunlight sink into earth
As a pale moon fades into twilight skies
Alas approaching are spiteful brooding clouds
And the pelting rains follow closely behind
The loss I felt that fateful night
This evening shall wash away
Stones arranged into constellations
Tears chilling my face
Midnight permeates the mist
And fires defy the cursing rain
Cries echo off timber pillars of old
Suddenly, time stands still
And then a miracle of a celestial kind
Though benighted eyes I now beheld
The clouds recede and starlight falls from above
Over an ocean of screaming midnight skies
So that her spirit (the love I lost long ago)
Appeared from bleak and empty shadows of night
Within a kiss are souls perpetuate
Under a veil of stars and spectral delight
