This genesis and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in how they use literary archetypes. both the Greek and genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype, “Uran*s told Cronus to swallow each of his children as they were born”(Greek Myth) , this prove that Uran*s was afraid and that he wanted to keep ruling the world because he didn't wanted to get overthrown, as he swallow all of Uran*s children Cronus is a villain to but the main villain is Uran*s by letting Cronus eat his children just because he didn't wanted to get overthrown by anyone. "The serpent was clever more than any wild animal god had made"(Greek Myth). The serpent is an example of the villain archetype because he was clever and wanted bad things to happen to Adam and eve he knew that God will get mad at the woman and men but still he insisted the woman to eat from the tree, the serpent uses intuition to make the woman eat from the tree so the woman did and they both were punished real bad, These examples show both stories using the villain archetype.
The Greek and genesis creation stories also contrast with the former having epic battle and the garden archetype, “He returned to battle with his new allies. The Cyclopes provided Zeus with lightning bolts for weapons. The Hecatoncheires he set in ambush armed with boulders”(Greek Myth) This show how an epic battle archetype works because there is going to be a father vs son rivalry and they were gods so that is an epic battle because either one of them need to die. As he return from getting more allies Zeus gain more power and is ready to fight with new weapons. “God made all kinds of trees grow from the ground, trees beautiful to look at and good to eat”(Genesis creation). Genesis creation story is at Eden garden and Greek is on the world which is described as a beautiful place, At the Greek creation at first was only chaos but then it turn in a beautiful garden. As seen the Greek and Genesis creation both show epic battle and garden archetype.
