So I don't know if you know this but earlier this year I hosted the Tony awards with Kristin Chenoweth
And it was truly one of the most terrifying nights of my entire life
And I've had some scary nights I really have
The best thing really about hosting the Tony's was to getting to go and see all the shows
Because I've just been in Carbyle I haven't seen shows at all
I had to go and see a lot of shows and the first one I went to was my favorite
It was called The Visit by Kander and Ebb
And Kander and Ebb you know they wrote Chicago and Cabaret and Kiss the Spider Woman
And all these things and it stared aged 82 opening a broad way show Miss Chita Rivera
I went on the first night it was a magical evening it really was
At the end of the show and the curtain calls John Kander the composer came out with Terrence McNally
And they gestured up to Fred Ebb who is sadly no longer with us
And then Chita came out for her big call and it was just so beautiful
She kind of like lunged down to the front of the stage
And this beautiful song and this show swelled
And everyone is throwing yellow roses and red roses
And it was just the most magical moment it was like a painting had come to life
And um I just love that song the song that surged when Chita came out
I fell in love with that song and I asked John Kander if I could sing it tonight and he said yes
