[Adam WarRock]
If life is a play
Then better play your part
If life is a game then
Better play your cards
Keep your hand held tight
Close to the vest through experience
And play drunk whenever
Holding spades over hearts
See people as chess pieces
Arranged for convenience
With moves thought out ahead of time
One step ahead of mine
Ahead of rhymes that fuels hearts
The unleaded kinds
Steady grind against
The minds of orthodox allegiances
We stand in judgement
Before the Rosetta stone
Trying to figure out the combinations
Of the letters shown
And every separate poem
Read back through every effort blown
Down through time and space
After hearts opened it was a whole
Cause back in ancient times
We discovered hateful minds and closed souls
Only music made by men with open hulls
We laid the code gave men power and made it so
Those who hold the power
Could speak as gods and play the roles
And i can see for miles but still
The outcome of life is nothing i can feel
Whether a man or a child
Whether abstract or real
Whether dead or alive
Whether a sword or a shield
And everything is everything
It is what it is
But still we went with fate
And prepped for life to exist
And while the pieces lining up
Eternity wasting time enough
The hero and the villain
The music and the mix
Yo it's been a long time
In the beginning we created
Language phonetics
And gave people something to play with
Seven notes on several scales
Made them diatonic
With syncopatic rhythms
That children found symbiotic
And the record spins the same
As the world tilts on its axis
And artists hone their crafts
In committed hours of practice
That amount to single seconds
On the lifelines of existence
Sound waves enter space
Through satellite transmissions
While celestial bodies sway
In the pool of creation
Gods pa** centuries
While drifting in meditation
Knowledge sounded sweet
To the ears of the innocent
Stars faded and died
As planets below diminished in
The last beam of light
Was flickering in the sky
And the earth burned steady
As rivers and oceans cried
Til the whispers echoed over
The abandoned landscape
And history was captured
On a sixty minute mix tape
