As a part of its 10th year anniversary A3C Festival is placing a greater focus on creating opportunities to promote social responsibility within the hip hop community. To this end “A3C Action!” has been formed concentrating on health, education and community development. Along with a series of panels on Oct. 9 that will cover topics including volunteerism and political activism, there will be a mixer for non-profit organizations and festival attendees as well as blood and marrow donor drives on Friday, Oct 10 and Saturday Oct 11. The festival culminates with our block party on Sunday, Oct 12 which will host a volunteer engagement fair. All block party attendees are asked to donate clothing and non-perishable food items as the “cost” of admission to the event.
The 2014 A3C Action! series is being led by Janet Smith through her consultancy The Entertainment Management & Brand Equity Development (E.M.B.E.D.) Group. A long time collaborator with A3C from its inception starting with her role as a former Culture Manager for Red Bull, Janet brings more than 20 years of entertainment, consumer and non-profit marketing expertise to the newly formed partnership. “A3C Action!” will gather together artists, journalists, community activists, and business leaders seeking to discuss and present effective ways to foster change that starts locally and resonates globally.
