10-14-13 No School 10-15-13 book Divergent: Today is the day that Beatrice and all the other students in her grade take the aptitude test. This test will decide whether they leave their families or they stay with their families forever. Beatrice and her family are in abnegation which value selflessness. The other factions are Candor which value honesty, Erudite which value knowledge, Amity which value peacefulness, and dauntless the brave. 10-16-13 PSAT 10-17-13 Beatrice is told she is divergent which is extremely dangerous to be. Divergent is when you can belong to more than one faction. IN her case she tested and the results said that she could belong in Erudite, Dauntless, or Abnegation. Now she must choose between staying with her family or switching factions. The next day is the choosing ceremony so she will have to make her decision. She already crossed out Erudite and must now choose between dauntless the brave or Abnegation the selfless. 10-18-13 During the choosing ceremony Caleb goes before Beatrice because it happens in reverse alphabetical order. Caleb, Beatrice's older brother, chooses Erudite which angers most of the Abnegation group while the Erudites have a big smirk on their face. Beatrice's dad is furious now its her time to choose so, she cuts her arm and lets the blood drop on the coals of fire meaning she chose Dauntless over Abnegation. She no longer belongs to Abnegation and she can feel her father's gaze upon her. So the ceremony is over and there are many faction transfers. The Dauntless are the first to leave the ceremony so, they start off running to the trains. They jump on while some don't make it; later they will always have to jump off the train onto a building. Three people don't make it.
