In the Greek creation Myth and in the Genesis creation story there are three similar archetypes; hero, villain, and innocent. The hero archetype is the one that does good and tries to save everyone from the villain. In Genesis, God is the hero archetype because he created everything, providing life to humanity and all types of creatures. In the Greek myth Zeus is the hero archetype because he saved his siblings from Cronus, who had imprisoned them in his stomach, and led them to battle against the Titans. The villain archetype is the one that is evil and does bad things for selfish reasons. The villain archetype in Genesis was the snake because it tricked Eve into disobeying God's law of eating fruit from the Tree-of-Knowledge-of-Good-and-Evil. In the Greek myth Cronus is the villain because his hunger for power led him to swallow his own children, so they didn't dethrone him. The innocent archetype is the one that isn't aware of bad and is gullible. In Genesis, Eve is the innocent archetype because she allows herself to be tricked by a serpent. Rhea is the innocent archetype in the Greek myth because she allowed Cronus to eat their children even though she shouldn't of had. Even though the Greek myth and Genesis story share some archetypes they also have different archetypes that are specific for that story. These archetypes include crossroads, father/son rivalry, garden, and sibling rivalry. Cross roads is when a character is faced to make a decision which will impact his/her life from that moment on. An example of cross roads, which is found in the genesis story, is when Eve was left to choose between obeying God and ignoring the snake or disobeying God and doing as the snake said, in the end she chose to disobey God which completely changed her life from that moment on. Another archetype found only in the Genesis story is the Garden archetype which is like a perfect place where only good exists and everything is calm and peaceful. The Garden archetype in the genesis story would be the Garden of Eden because it was created by God himself and held everything and anything necessary for survival without violence and conflict needed. The Epic Battle archetype is when a battle or war goes on that will decide the fate of the characters depending on who is victorious. In the Greek myth an epic battle occurs between the Gods and the Titans in which the Gods win, claiming Earth as theirs. Father/son rivalry is when there is a dispute between a father figure and a son. Such as there was between Zeus and Cronus when Zeus freed his siblings leading to the demise of Cronus. Sibling rivalry is when there is an issue between siblings. Such as in Genesis when Cain was jealous of Abel to the point that he k**ed him.
